Mental Health & Well-Being In Schools

Course DescriptionThis course provides an examination of techniques and approaches aimed at improving health and well-being within educational institutions. In today’s landscape, prioritizing the emotional welfare of students is crucial. As educators and school administrators, it is not only our duty but also essential, for academic success, to understand and address the mental health needs of our students. This course covers a range of topics, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools required to establish a nurturing school environment that emphasizes mental health.

The objectives of this course include developing an understanding of the importance of health in education. Participants will explore how mental health impacts student performance and behavior, recognizing the connection between well-being and academic success. We will also identify health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and stress, delving into them comprehensively.

Establishing a school culture that cultivates health will be a central focus, involving discussions on strategies, for creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. This includes recognizing the roles and responsibilities that teachers, staff members, and administrators play in promoting well-being.

Identifying the indicators of health concerns, in students is a crucial ability, just as important as understanding how to offer suitable assistance and connect them with the necessary resources.

Additionally, comprehensive discussions on communication and collaboration, with students, parents and mental health experts will be included
