Araxa Edu was first established in Fethiye, a region in Turkey where the ancient city of Araxa once existed. Today, our company is headquartered in Eskişehir, a city located in the northwest of Turkey.
The name Araxa means “shrine with an altar” in Luwian and Carian languages. The name of this city is mentioned as Araththi in the Lycian inscriptions. While talking about the old Lycian union, Plinius writes that among the 36 towns and cities included in this union, Araxa was also included. There are no significant remains from the city that have survived to the present day.
