Course Description

Sustainability and digital innovation are two of the most important priorities shaping the future of education. Schools play a critical role in preparing students to become environmentally responsible citizens while equipping them with the digital competencies needed to address global challenges. Teachers are increasingly expected to integrate sustainability concepts into their teaching practices and create learning experiences that inspire students to adopt environmentally responsible behaviours and contribute to a more sustainable future.

This course is designed for teachers and educational professionals who wish to combine environmental education with innovative digital teaching approaches. Participants will explore sustainability concepts, environmental challenges, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and practical strategies for creating eco-friendly learning environments. They will also learn how digital tools, project-based learning, and student-led initiatives can support environmental awareness, critical thinking, and positive action.

Through practical workshops, collaborative projects, case studies, and hands-on activities, participants will develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to integrate sustainability into classroom practice and promote environmentally responsible learning communities.

Methodology

The course follows a project-based, inquiry-based, and experiential learning approach that combines environmental education with digital innovation. Participants will engage in collaborative workshops, sustainability challenges, problem-solving activities, case study analysis, action-learning projects, peer-learning sessions, digital tool exploration, and reflective practice. The methodology promotes active participation, real-world application, critical thinking, collaboration, and the development of practical solutions that can be implemented within schools and classrooms.
