Neuroscience of Engagement: Rewiring Classrooms for Intrinsic Motivation and Gamified Learning
A professional Erasmus+ course for teachers, trainers, school leaders and educational professionals who want to understand how the brain learns and create highly engaging learning experiences.
Course Description
Neuroscience of Engagement: Rewiring Classrooms for Intrinsic Motivation and Gamified Learning is a professional development course designed for teachers, trainers, school leaders, and educational professionals who want to understand how the brain learns and use this knowledge to create highly engaging learning experiences.
Student engagement remains one of the most significant challenges in education. Many learners struggle with motivation, attention, persistence, and meaningful participation in traditional classroom environments.
This course combines educational neuroscience, motivational psychology, and gamified learning methodologies to help educators create learning environments that stimulate curiosity, support intrinsic motivation, and improve learning outcomes.
Methodology
This course is based on neuroscience-informed teaching, experiential learning, gamification methodologies, collaborative learning, design thinking, reflective practice, project-based learning, classroom simulations, case-study analysis, and practical classroom applications.
Participants will engage in interactive workshops, brain-based learning activities, gamification design exercises, engagement audits, collaborative problem-solving tasks, role-playing activities, and action-planning sessions.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the neuroscience of learning, attention, and motivation.
- Explain how emotions influence learning and memory.
- Identify factors that increase and decrease student engagement.
- Apply neuroscience-informed teaching strategies.
- Design learning experiences that support intrinsic motivation.
- Use gamification techniques to increase participation and persistence.
- Create meaningful reward systems that encourage learning.
- Develop student autonomy and self-regulation skills.
- Design engaging learning environments that promote curiosity.
- Improve student focus, attention, and active participation.
- Integrate gamified learning into different subject areas.
- Develop a neuroscience-based engagement strategy for their classroom.
