Course Description

STEM education plays a crucial role in preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. By integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences, teachers can foster creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation. Effective STEM activities encourage students to explore real-world challenges, develop practical solutions, and build skills that are increasingly important in modern education and future careers.

This course is designed for teachers and educational professionals who wish to strengthen their STEM teaching competencies and develop engaging STEM activities that inspire students to become active learners and innovative thinkers. Participants will explore practical methodologies, project-based learning approaches, engineering design challenges, inquiry-based teaching strategies, and technology-enhanced learning experiences that can be applied across different educational levels and subject areas.

Through collaborative workshops, practical design activities, classroom simulations, and peer-learning experiences, participants will gain the confidence and resources needed to create meaningful STEM learning opportunities that increase student engagement and achievement.

Methodology

The course follows an active, inquiry-based, and experiential learning approach where participants learn by designing, testing, evaluating, and improving STEM activities. The methodology combines project-based learning, engineering design processes, collaborative problem-solving, inquiry-based instruction, technology integration, peer-learning, reflective practice, and hands-on experimentation.

Participants will work individually and collaboratively to develop STEM projects, analyse classroom applications, test educational resources, and create practical solutions that can be directly implemented in their schools.
