ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOR ALL TEACHERS

Course Description Sending partners: Educational organizations involved in formal, non-formal, and informal learning: schools, adult training centres, resource centres, and other relevant organizations active in the adult education field established in Erasmus+ program countries.

Profile of the participants: The participants are teachers active in the sending organization interested in developing their English level and skills and increasing their motivation to study and use English in lessons.  They must be interested in other cultures and in developing the institution’s European dimension.

Argument:Concerning a teacher’s work, it is a teacher’s job to educate their students so they may better succeed in their future endeavours, and English is critical to that. Technology is also a big part of education nowadays and since half of the internet is in English it would be beneficial to understand it. These are not the only reasons, teachers’ extracurriculars may include travelling, playing sports, and attending courses or conferences. This course will include a brief history of how English came to the fore, why English is still so prominent now and why teachers should learn it.

Learning Outcomes Participants are going to acquire the following competencies:

  • Expand their vocabulary
  • Have a better understanding of reading
  • Improve listening skills
  • Practice speaking in an international environment
  • Learn through interactive activities and games
  • Make learning the English language easier, faster, stimulating and fun.
Methodology Most of the educational approaches are inspired by constructivist pedagogy. The key concept of the course is communication. We use task-based, collaborative and humanistic approaches to create a positive learning environment where the focus is on practical course activities.

  • To develop students’ ability to use English in day-to-day life and real-life situation
  • To understand the written text and able to use skimming, and scanning skills
  • To write simple English to express ideas, etc
  • To promote European cooperation in the field of education within the framework of the Erasmus+ program by partnership building.
